Learners at the College are based in a small tutor group of around 6 people who meet at the start and end of each day. Their Personal Tutor coordinates the individual learning programme, liaises with staff teams and is the vital link with parents, carers and other professionals. The Tutor is supported by Learning Support Workers, who together are key in the management of an individual learner’s St. John’s journey.

This team is especially involved in the learner’s Induction Programme and in ensuring that any transition recognises each learner’s needs and the resources to support their success. This is especially so in the final year and a Moving On programme will support learners in planning for this. Our Therapy team too will make a significant contribution to both planning and supporting learners on arrival, during their programme and when moving on.
