| New Placements for Student Teachers and Counsellors |
|
February 2011 St. John’s are very pleased to be offering a number of student placements in the near future with a trainee teacher undertaking a placement at both the School & the College. These are called ‘Complementary Placements’ which, as part of the Every Child Matters agenda, allow teachers to opportunity to see the life of students from a more holistic perspective than education alone. Both Shaun and Abbie will be joining us during February and will be with us over a period of 5 or 6 weeks. Rachel Gould, the Counsellor at the Brighton Campus, will also be facilitating some Student placements for Counsellors in training or working towards accreditation. More from Rachel below; Good news! We will soon be able to increase the amount of counselling available at the college by offering placements to trainee counsellors from the University of Brighton. We are hoping to recruit two trainees in the next few months. This is a great opportunity for us to be able to offer more counselling as learners with less severe needs will be able to be seen.
