The Cafe in the Crypt is a thriving community cafe operated by St John's. It provides work placements and training opportunities and around 40 of our learners have a weekly placement there as part of their programme.

The cafe is located in a busy community centre and has seating for forty customers. With a philosophy of 'home cooked food at community prices', we are particularly busy over the lunchtime period. The cafe team of staff and learners take great pride in their achievements including maintaining five star status through the local council's hygiene inspection – on a par with the Grand Hotel! The team have also catered for large community events and private functions with huge success.

We would love it if you could join us for a coffee to see for yourself what our young people have to offer to the workforce. The cafe is to be found in the basement of St George's Church and the Kemp Town Crypt Community Centre in St George's Road, Brighton.
