St. John's is committed to safeguarding children and young people from harm and abuse and expects all applicants, employees and visitors to share this commitment. It is the intention of the school and college to undertake a right and proper procedure in the recruitment of new staff to any post within the organisation. All new employees are required to complete comprehensive recruitment checks prior to taking up post. These include an enhanced CRB disclosure, 2 references which are followed up by a member of the HR team, and full disclosure of an applicant's entire employment and personal background. Every interview conducted at St. John's includes a safeguarding process at which time the CRB application form will be checked, identification and references verified, qualifications confirmed, and any gaps in your employment and personal history will be discussed. This will be followed by a selection interview with a panel from the management team and will be attended by at least one individual who has undertaken Safer Recruitment Training accredited by NCSL (National College for School Leadership). Our Safeguarding Commitment It is the belief of St. John's School and College that the well being of all children and young people is given paramount consideration.
