We always celebrate learner’s success and, where possible, support the young person to gain accreditation through nationally recognised qualifications.

Functional Skills – students currently take Adult Literacy and numeracy tests. Functional skills tests will be introduced in the near future.

The AQA Unit Award Scheme is based on a unit or modular approach with areas of work or activity presented to students as a series of individual units.

We offer Edexcel entry level courses in a number of subject areas.

ASDAN is curriculum development organisation and internationally recognised awarding body, offering programmes and qualifications that explicitly grow skills for learning, skills for employment and skills for life.

Points Reward System

We operate a positive rewards system at St. John’s where learners gain points for trying their best, completing tasks and making a positive contribution. Rewards can range from a milkshake to a trip to London.

Certification

Learners are encouraged to praise each other by awarding their peers certificates for good behaviour.  Teachers and Instructors routinely award certificates for good effort and great work and these are celebrated in assemblies.
