Last week, the trustee board of St. John’s School and College held its last board meeting before the charity merges with national charity Ambitious about Autism.
St. John’s was established 137 years ago in 1886 by Sister Jane Borradaile and so the meeting marked the end of an era and the start of an exciting new phase in the charity’s history. St. John’s CEO Simon Charleton, who is retiring at the end of August says;
Ambitious about Autism and St. John’s School and College are well-established charities with shared values and a commitment to supporting autistic children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. We look forward to working together to create better opportunities and life outcomes for autistic children and young people.
Angela Tempany is the new Executive Headteacher at St. John’s and will be overseeing the care, therapy and education provision at the college.
